LSM unit

  • Scanning method: two galvanometer scanning mirrors
  • Excitation and emission light is separated via different polychroic beamsplitters (6 position filter wheel, see Filter)
  • Fluorescence detection via 3 independent low-noise photomultiplier tubes
  • Fluorescence signal is spectrally dispersed and guided via the spectrophotometric detector to the photomultiplier tubes
  • A transmission detector enables bright field/DIC imaging using the scanning laser
  • Scanning modes: X, Y, Z, time t and wavelength λ, uni- or bidirectional scanning
  • Image resolution: max. 8192 x 8192
  • Scanning speed: up to 5 frames/s at 512 x 512 pixels
  • Hardware zoom: 1x, ..., 64x; continuous control
