LSM unit and Airyscan detector

  • Scanning method: two galvanometer scanning mirrors
  • Excitation and emission light is separated via different polychroic beamsplitters (see Filter)
  • Fluorescence detection via 3 independent low-noise photomultiplier tubes. Central channel is euqipped with GaAsP as electrode material for two times higher sensitivity
  • Fluorescence signal is spectrally dispersed and guided via the spectrophotometric detector to the photomultiplier tubes
  • Transmission detector enables bright field/DIC imaging using the scanning laser
  • Scanning modes: X, Y, Z, time t and wavelength λ, uni- or bidirectional scanning
  • Image resolution: max. 8192 x 8192
  • Scanning speed: up to 13 frames/s at 512 x 512 pixels
  • Airy scan detector: 32 GaAsP detector elements are arranged in a compound eye fashion. The central element is adjusted to lie on the optical axis. Other elements group around with increasing distances. For
higher resolution applications zoom optics image 1.25 Airy units (AU) onto the detector. The Airy disk intensity distribution is imaged on the detector elements.
  • Hardware zoom: 1x, ..., 66x; continuous control
